Being a Light Over Showing Offense

Do you find it hard sometimes to obey the teaching of having the mind of Christ in an increasingly offensive world? Me too. We must be encouraged to control what we consume and prioritize spiritual formation through the Word of God and prayer. We must also encourage others to do the same!

On Sunday at Bedford, we prayed the prayers of serenity and peace, which reflected the desire to be instruments of God's love and peace in a divided and fallen world. As followers of Christ, we are called to trace over His life, embracing His humble and unoffendable attitude. Easier said than done sometimes, right? But by trusting in God's plan and surrendering to His will, we can rise above the culture of offense and be a light in the darkness.

Maybe that looks like staying off of social media for the day and praying every time you fight the urge. Maybe that looks like not winning an argument and just moving on, when you really wanted the "win." In what way can you be a light today instead of showing offense?
