Good news is God’s news. The why is not the main news. If there was a new medication that came out that would prevent all illnesses, people would say this is a miraculous miracle and great news! Yet, Jesus offers eternal life so that you may never die. This good news makes every day a good day!
We become offended to be offensive. Isn’t it amazing how the world loves to concentrate on one bad day to get us angry and to forget the good news of Jesus Christ? It is a constant spiritual battle that is unseen. Ephesians 6:10-12 tells us to put on the full armor of God and to be strong in His mighty power! We have to understand the one real enemy. The one who wants Christians to do anything other than be like Jesus.
How do we stop bad thoughts before they are actions? We have to ask Jesus to take captive those thoughts, to filter every thought through the grace love and the peace of Jesus Christ. Did this thought come from Him? If not, we have to be able to let it go. In order to do this, we have to have the mind of Christ. And in order to have the mind of Christ, we have to know God.
Jesus lives with purpose. And we are called to not respond without purpose. Anger with a purpose is Godly anger, just as joy with a purpose is Godly joy. We must control what we consume, so that we are guided to God’s will & purpose. The Holy Spirit will lead you to consume hope. We consume daily, not only at mealtime, but also at entertainment time, rest time, & work time. The real question: "is this healthy consumption?" We have to move hand in hand with God, not ahead or behind.
God gave us the opportunity to create wealth. If used for Godly purposes, we are sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. We are called to use our given resources to help people know that good news. We should constantly be thinking on how to do more for Jesus, and not allow others to distract or offend us to the point of losing control.
