Are you feeling stuck today?

This week, our na/on celebrates Juneteenth, the day news of freedom reached the last enslaved Black Americans in Texas.

Hi, I’m Shawn from Sherwood Oaks Chris/an Church with today’s Minute Message.

On June 19th, 1865, over 2 years a*er President Lincoln declared all enslaved persons free, Union Army troops marched to Texas, to bring freedom to those s/ll in bondage.

And while the announcement that day was good news, it wasn’t new news. These enslaved Black Americans were already free, they just didn’t know it.

The same can be true for us. We may not be physically enslaved, but mentally, emo/onally, and

spiritually, many of us live in bondage. We’re held cap/ve by a hurt we just can’t let go of. An addic/on we can’t seem to break. A moment we can’t get over.

These things hold us back and keep us trapped, but Jesus came to set us free from our hurts, hang-ups, and habits. And if he has set you free, you are free indeed.

Feeling stuck today? Turn to Jesus and experience the freedom he made possible for you.
