Faith Over Confidence

Have you ever thought about not having confidence as a good trait? Today's world will tell you that having confidence in yourself is the first step in all good things. That you must love everything about yourself, be completely happy with your looks and material objects, before you can do anything else. But a point Tim made on Sunday morning made me realize something. God used Gideon, and one of the main reasons He did this is because Gideon lacked confidence. What he didn’t lack was faith in God. He trusted in God alone. Maybe to us, it looked like Gideon needed continual reassurance, but God saw a man who didn’t lose hope or faith in Him. God continued to affirm him in his lack of confidence.

He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20

And if He can do so much with a mustard seed-sized faith, can you even imagine what He can do with big faith?
