How do you handle failure? Does the thought of trying something new or big only for it to later fall short of expectations, keep you on the sidelines instead of getting in the game? Well, I've been there too. Hi, I'm Quentin Bemis from Sherman Oaks.
Fear of failure can be so crippling that we fail to even start. But what if I told you the outcome wasn't on you?
In Matthew 9, Jesus prepares his disciples for a real challenge in their ministry and says this. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into the harvest field. He then sends them out to cast out demons, heal the sick, and preach the good news of the Kingdom of heaven.
But we never get a full account of the results. John never tells us how their challenge went. And I think that's because Jesus was more concerned with the faithfulness of the disciples than he was the fruit of their efforts. Let that fact bring you some peace today, whatever God is calling you to do, whoever he is calling you to share his good news with.
The results aren't up to you. God has called you to be faithful. He'll handle the rest. Be unleashed to pursue that calling today
