Jesus says two things to the woman caught in adultery, brought to Him to be stoned for her sin. He says, “I don’t condemn you.” And “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
What powerful statements. Jesus doesn’t say, “I don’t condemn you, and your actions are ok.” He doesn’t say, “you are too far gone to be forgiven.” He plainly says she is not condemned and commands her to leave her life of sin.
Has that soaked in for you the way it has for me over the past few days?
How often am I one of those men ready to throw a stone at someone else’s sin when I have my own sin to deal with...to leave from? It doesn’t mean I agree or condone their sins, but it does mean that I recognize I am just as much a sinner and that I just as much need a Savior to be redeemed.
