We are better together. Partnership is about sacrifice, serving, responsibilities, & relationships. And I find this such a balancing act that I don’t always get right, personally.
I have been a few different types of people at the church:
1. The one that sits back, and watches others serve, soaking in the “I go here and it’s comfy.”
2. The one that feels like I have my hand in every kind of ministry and really have no time to reach people outside the church because I am exhausted already.
3. The one that falls somewhere in the middle – where I have found a few places to serve where I can be my best and still take time to rest, rejuvenate, and reach people. I’ve found my people, and we’ve built relationships in which we serve together, hold each other accountable, and enjoy each other’s company.
But when I am that 3rd type of person, I am at my best! My best for me and my family AND for the church. I encourage you to find a place you like to serve and to find someone you can do it with! As my 3-year-old said as we walked out the door today with a fist bump, “we are partners in Christ!”
