We are just days away from Christmas. Time to make last-minute trips for gifts and food to celebrate the birth of our savior. When we are rushing around and stressed to the max preparing for the big day and family gatherings, are we thinking about the one most important gift the world has ever received? Probably not. I find myself year after year leaving the reason we really celebrate this day in the backseat of the sleigh.
As a Christian, the worldly ways truly make it difficult to focus my energy on Jesus. We get sucked into Santa’s Christmas of the world traveling gift giver. The magi really traveled a great distance bringing gifts; however, the recipient was one little boy who would go on to die for all our sins. I pray that during the weekend madness and the added weather worries, we find time to give God our presence. Be still, breathe and be grateful that God sent Jesus into our messy world to turn it upside down!
