1 John 2:18 says tells us that in the Last hour there will be lies and truth. We have to be able to know the truth. As we move through life, we learn and grow to discern truth from lies, as we are led by the Holy Spirit.
No one can compare to Jesus. He is always right. He is the truth. To know Jesus is to know truth. As Christians, we are grafted into Christ. People who leave are not grafted in. We have to remain in His truth every day! To be a Christian is to love each other, not to care about ourselves first.
Truth is hinder in the digital age. People have availability to so many different resources and voices. There are many false teachers and lies being spread out there, sadly. But the truth is also there. It can be a valuable resource but must be used wisely!
It is sinful is to seek your own truth over God’s truth. How do we persevere in these days?
Here are three ways:
1. Believe Jesus is the Christ
2. Stay with God’s people
3. Keep the commandments of Jesus and keep the faith
Jesus told Peter "get behind me, satan." Just after Peter had confessed Jesus is the Christ. We all make mistakes, just like Peter. He had to see and let the truth lead and guide him back. Guide him back to a life that would end in being with Christ.
