Welcome to 2025!

Jan 2, 2025Jim Clark

Well, just when we got used to writing 2024, 2025 is here!

Are you a New Years' Resolution maker?

I realize that resolutions have fallen out of favor in the last couple of years. Some of that may be good. If you are intentionally setting yourself up for failure by promising to make a change that you have no intention to make, then yes, skip it.

But I think resolutions have gotten a bad wrap. I think there is something helpful, hopeful and a little inspiring about reflecting back on the previous year and identifying some of the things in my life that I don't like or enjoy. Then sitting down and making some plans to change those things. Maybe it's losing a few pounds and skipping a few cookies. Maybe it's reading a few more books and less social media. Maybe it's spending more intentional time with my kids and less on other things.

Whatever those goals are (let's call them "goals"... no one is down on goals, right?), you should make them around things that will make you happier, healthier and more connected to God.

One of my yearly goals is to read through the entire Bible, digital cover to cover. I tend to do most of my reading on my iPad. YouVersion (the free Bible app for every device) is my favorite tool here! So today, I will embark on reading the Bible all the way through again. Want to join me?
