What season are you in?

It feels like just last week the trees were so vibrant with colors, we were looking for any excuse to drive through the countryside to admire them. And this week they’re so bare and cold.

Hi, I'm Matt from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church with today's minute message and I have to rake the leaves of those trees left for me now.

It's amazing how fast the seasons turned, how quickly things changed. A new season doesn't necessarily mean worse either. It's just different. I mean, I may have to rake those leaves, but at least I'm not mowing.

There's an old song by the Birds called “Turn, Turn, Turn.” And it's actually taken word for word from the Bible and the book of Ecclesiastes, except the whole turn, turn, turn.

“To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. The time to plant, the time to reap. A time to laugh and a time to weep. The time to dance. The time to mourn.” Whatever season you're in, it has a reason. Don't try to move on too quickly or hold on to what's gone.

The list in the Bible ends with “He has made everything beautiful in it’s time. Enjoy every day is a gift from God. Whatever that day brings. It's a season and it has a purpose.
