1 Corinthians 12
An autoimmune disorder is a condition that occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys healthy body tissue. There are more than 80 known autoimmune disorders. The followers of Christ at Corinth had spiritual autoimmune disorder. Certain gifted Christians were attacking and destroying other gifted Christians. Paul tries to neutralize these attacks in chapter 12 but, his argument gives way to the “love” chapter. (1 Corinthians 13) We, the body of Christ, must guard against autoimmune disorder. Everything must be done to build up the body, not cannibalize it.
