The time was almost upon them. Soon, Mary & Joseph would be parents. They would bring life into the world, and not just any life. They would bring the Son of God into their world, as an infant. They would teach him to walk and talk. They would dry his tears and tend to his scraped knees. They would love him with every ounce of who they are. They would be his parents, willing to give everything to him, and they would be there through his miraculous life.
The waiting, at this point, had to be almost unbearable. To be so close to the end of one journey and yet have so far to go on the next. And yet they waited.
Expectant.
Hopeful.
Joyful.
Patient.
They knew from the moment God's plan was revealed to them that this would be no ordinary child, no ordinary life. They knew that God would be present with them. They knew that this moment would change the world forever.
The same is true for you and your life. You may not be awaiting the birth of the Son of God, but God's plan, revealed in and through you, can change everything. You are His conduit now on the Earth. The story of His son's birth is celebrated around the world now, but the promise of His life is what makes all the difference.
As you celebrate the birth of the One who would come to save you, remember that it's only one part of the story!
