Matthew 5-7

All the people knew. Or at least they thought they knew. As Jesus began to speak, it started to turn their understanding upside-down. The disciples gathered round while the crowds just tried to overhear the teaching.

Many times we are like the disciples and the crowds, we think we know what life is all about, and we think we know what is best. Jesus can turn our understanding upside down today just like He did then, Each day we have the opportunity to gather round like the disciples, soaking up every bit of knowledge and wisdom from Jesus. By reading this passage, we have the opportunity to know how the world looks to God. Jesus gives us a look at our heart, a look at our focus, our inward state of health. The opportunity to be more self aware before we point our finger at others as we see their state of spiritual health. “Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them is like a wise man who built his house on rock." (Matthew 7:24 NET). let's take this opportunity to reflect on Jesus' words and put them into action.
